I have to say this was a very pleasant surprise. The most succulent chicken burger and the best chips (triple cooked) that I have ever had. Service was great too. 5* well earned I ate every bite as you can see from the photo. Delicious. We will be back

Location good for the town, but pretty noisy outside. The room was a single bed unit so not big, but that's ok. The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked.

Despite being adjacent to the courtyard, very quiet as very few customers. Lovely comfy bed and excellent shower. TV facility not available as remote missing and unable to provide a replacement . If staying in room 12, check for a remote on arrival 🙄🙄

Angel Hotel was absolutely wonderful. We stayed here as we had a funeral to attend, the rooms were good, a little on the small side, but it was just for sleeping though, bed was comfortable and the location was right in the centre of town with the high street outside. There is no parking at this hotel though, but plenty round the back at Sainsbury's ( paid parking ) or 2 hours free on the high street between 8am and 6pm. The staff really go out of their way for you, very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was amazing too, nice selection and freshly prepared in the morning for your enjoyment. The pub was inviting and drinks were very reasonably priced. We had a great stay and amazing service from all the staff at The Angel, massive thank you from us all.

Visited over bank holiday so pub restaurant wasn't open late but the member of staff was helpful and made us aware of where other places to eat etc. We took our dog and the room was really practical with a decent shower. It was comfortable and had everything we needed. Wootton Bassett was small but had all the shops, eating places and fuel stations you'd want. We were really pleased that we chose to stay here and would be happy to return.

I have always liked this pub, friendly and warm, has an old world feel. The food is great, last visited with family for lunch and we all enjoyed our lunch. Nice coffee, good choice on menu. The staff are welcoming

Aldo and his team provided a buffet and space for my Husbands funeral wake. The area was set out with great thought, flowers and candles, the buffet was excellent and the staff were constantly clearing tables, replenishing hot and cold drinks, and keeping the buffet topped up and tidy and even bringing out extra hot chips. A first class experience that made a very difficult day easier, a massive thank you to all concerned

Two negative points - two positive ones = 3 stars... - Service: Very negative situation when asked to provide proof of payment for breakfast on day 2 of stay - the hotel should have some form of tracking in place what they charged and cashed in... - Filling forms every evening to choose breakfast and time, but then only starting the preparation of breakfast at 8 to serve breakfast at 8 doesn't work out and not helpful if you're in a bit of hurry... + Food itself (breakfast) was very good + Room (the accessible one) very large, very good bed, clean > very happy. Just the mirror is at such low hanging position that squatting or a chair is needed - but this shall not offset the otherwise good impression of the room

Top Arkells pub positioned in the town high street

Ideal hotel location on Royal Wootton Bassett High street. Super friendly staff who are very accommodating after some confusion with bookings that we made. Rooms are very comfortable with large kingsize beds and tea/coffee facilities. Perfect spot for a stop off.

Comfortable room, slept well. The mini fridge, iron, and ironing board came in very handy. There were also tea & coffee facilities in the room. Our room was off the courtyard and very convenient and easy access to the highstreet with all the shops etc. Our room was a little tired in places, and we were unable to open the bedroom window, so hubby was a tad warm at times. We would definitely stay again.

Booked by phone to eat the day before. They took my number. When got there was told no food that night! Not that helpful with saying where else to go. Looked nice but I'll never get to see - would not try to go back for obvious reasons. 😤

Stayed here several times whilst renovations in our cottage. We spend many evenings for drinks or meals. Very friendly service and great meals. Very clean and welcoming :-)

Just one night booked as I was on my way to Wales. Arrived just before eight and unfortunately I missed the cut off for the kitchen closing which for a Friday evening in a pub hotel I was surprised. There were plenty of take away options in the high street. Nevermind I should have researched that one. I had paid for breakfast when I booked and was first in at 8.30 and wow a lovely cooked and well presented "full English" was placed.on the table, Tea and coffee , juices all on the main table. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking outside is free ( I think it's chargeable from 10am but check) my advice would be to reverse in because I had great fun trying to find a gap in the Saturday morning traffic. Anyway to summarise lovely pub and accomodation.
